Do you know the difference between meat and fish?
If you beat your fish, it´ll die.

  Of course!
But sometimes meat isn´t enough and I end up eating meat wrapped in meat with meat on the side.

I look in the mirror and see meat-tearing teeth.

I´d just like to say, as a vegetarian ...
... I don´t judge anybody who eats meat. I don´t judge anybody who doesn´t eat meat. You do what you like, and I´ll do what I like. Why make it harder than that?

Framtonm: in case you were not being sarcastic - I have never seen any evidence of humans having carnivore fangs. Front teeth are for biting into fruits and back teeth are for grinding nuts.

@ Ben: Vegetarian diet(that excludes imported meat substitutes) uses less resources and has a lower impact on the environment. I live on a vegan diet by the way and only express my opinion on the web or if asked in person. Even then I ask people if they are sure if they want to hear what I have to say and warn them that they will probably not like it. Generally I laugh quietly inside when people say they don´t eat tuna as it´s unethical because of the dolphins.

If you are vegetarian because you know of the benefits it is of course easier to keep quiet about it because no one wants to hear what is wrong about the things they do just to please their palate several times a day.

  Less harm on the environment?
True if you get locally grown produce, not true if you eat oranges, kiwis, herbs that grow only in china. I think veggies are shipped just as much as meats, maybe even more. I live in Oregon & work at a place where we get are veggies from Florida, how stupid it is, yet that´s how the states work & I bet vegetarians are just as unaware as well.

Not only is it bad for the environment, its bad for the local economy.

  I saw on youtube
some guy talking about how eating meat contributes to global warming and that livestock account for 12% of GW with the methane they release. He says that we don´t need no stinking livestock. Eat fruit and vegetables like your mama told you to.

  You Vegitarians Better Be Nice
To us carnivores.

You may be on the menu.

Yeah, shipping fruit and veggies across the globe doesn´t help, but then again, neither does shipping meat.

I´ll eat meat when it´s free
  by: tiggyfiggy   02/22/2010 03:43 AM
I don´t eat them and I expect the same courtesy in return.

I´m not a nazi vegetarian - I would eat meat if necessity required it - but while I have a choice I choose not on health and environmental grounds.

What health benefits do you derive out of not eating meat. How does not eating meat help the environment?

Do you think a Massai in the plains of Serengeti, wreaking havoc to his health and plundering the environment? While, Hindu is the exact opposite, healthy and environmentally wise?

Only in meat.

This is from a carnivore on statins.

skcusswentrohs: I hope this answers a little of your question.
