  Yes, A Long Time Ago

We have payed for the oil industries with the lives of our youth, with the livelihood of our fisheries workers, our resort industry, our beaches, our estuaries, our wetlands that controlled flooding, our wildlife, our national heritage. We paid for this for a long time. It is now time for us to take control of a colossal exercise in corporate greed and abuse. The oil belongs to the federal government and we were sold out to big oil and the congress and presidencies that they bought. Nationalizing the oil industry is really reclaiming our property.

  True that

The resources belong to the people. The people should have to pay for private corporations mistakes, meaning those corporations make huge profits at the expense of the people.

  I´m all for it

I´m all for the downfall of oil so that we can move to cleaner energy sources, and the government can´t really do anything right... seems like a perfect marriage of convenience.

If the oil ran out, we would develop alternatives in a hurry. Big lazy oil companies are the reason we never get serious about an oil-free world. They buy all the politicians they want in Washington to keep any productive legislation from passing. (John Boehner for one) Just like BP was ill prepared for the oil spill, the world is ill prepared for when there is no longer any oil, or any oceans (oil polluted) for that matter. I´m not sure if nationalizing them is the answer, but maybe it´s a start.

  It´s already nationalized....

... just ask any Republican who has holdings in oil companies, or related child corporations.
