Coffee Reduces Liver Cancer Risk in Alcohol Drinkers

A recent study suggests that coffee can offset liver cancer risk for those who drink three or more alcoholic drinks daily.

Researchers considered 34 studies that looked at 8 million people worldwide with 24,600 cases of liver cancer - a disease that accounts for about 746,000 deaths in the world each year.

"Both coffee and coffee extracts have also been shown to reduce the expression of genes involved in inflammation, and the effects appear to be most pronounced in the liver," researchers say.
