A 58-yar-old man who spent 30 years on Alabama´s death row was released Friday morning from the Jefferson County Jail.
"I shouldn´t have sat on death row for 30 years. All they had to do was test the gun," Ray Hinton told the press. A judge found there wasn’t enough evidence to link him to two murders of fast food managers in 1985.
Hinton´s attorney Bryan Stevenson said Hinton was convicted because he was poor. He only had $1,000 to hire a ballistics expert with dubious credentials.
