Obama and Castro Meet for First Talk Between the Countries in Nearly 60 Years

The leaders of the United States and Cuba met for the first time in almost 60 years to discuss steps to improve relations.

Obama called the meeting "historic" and said "it was time for us to try something new". Raúl Castro said he was ready to discuss everything but patience is needed. During his speech Castro called on the U.S. to lift the embargo on his country.

The Cuban leader also reminded the U.S. of its past aggression. However, he pointed out that "none of this is the responsibility of President Obama" and praised him as "an honest man".
