Cesar Gastelum Serrano, a prominent figure in the Sinaloa cartel, was arrested in Cancun, Mexico early Saturday.
Mexican marines and federal police captured the leading drug trafficker in an area near bars and hotels. He was caught with a pistol and nearly 25 ounces of cocaine.
Police say Gastelum Serrano frequently traveled to Central American countries and had been connected to police killings in Honduras. Three of his brothers are also on the U.S. Treasury Department´s Kingpin list.
