Japanese Man Arrested for Landing Radioactive Drone Near Prime Minister´s Office

Yasuo Yamamoto of Obama, Japan was arrested Saturday after allegedly dropping a small drone laced with traces of radiation on Prime Minister Shinzo Abe´s office to protest against the country´s nuclear power policy.

The 40-year-old turned himself in to Fukui Prefecture police. He admitted landing the drone carrying a plastic bottle of sand on the roof of Abe´s office.

Yamamoto says he used sand from Fukushima, where radiation levels are still high after the 2011 meltdown of the power plant Daiichi. The radioactive material in the bottle was found not to be harmful.
