Diet Pepsi Drops Artificial Sweetener Aspartame

PepsiCo announced on Friday that an aspartame-free Diet Pepsi — sweetened with sucralose and ace-K — will hit shelves some time in August.

"To Diet Pepsi consumers, removing aspartame is their No. 1 one concern. We´re listening to consumers. It´s what they want," senior vice president Seth Kaufman explains.

Critics, however, say the new sweetener ace-K should be avoided as well as it is "poorly tested" and "might pose a cancer risk".

  How can we ever trust..

a company ever again? Ok, to make a mistake is one thing, but for how many years have they continued to add ingredients that have caused deaths? Now they add an even more dangerous substance and still no one is held accountable for any of this.
