Germanwings Pilot Practiced Before Fatal Flight

A report by French air accident investigation agency BEA claims Germanwings co-pilot Andreas Lubitz, who is suspected of deliberately crashing an Airbus 320 in March, practiced a rapid descent on a previous flight the same day.

Only hours before the 27-year-old crashed the aircraft in the French Alps, he carried out a "controlled descent that lasted for minutes and for which there was no aeronautical justification". The plane had been flying from Barcelona to Duesseldorf.

The captain appears to have left the cockpit during that flight as well.
