Old Friend of Uber CEO Suing the Billionaire, Says It Was His Idea

Startup entrepreneur Kevin Halpern is sueing Uber CEO Travis Kalanick, claiming Kalanick stole his idea for the phone-enabled on-demand car service.

The founder of Celluride says he "spent seven years" working on the technology behind Uber and shared the details with Kalanick who then used them to create Uber.

"Kalanick flagrantly violated CellurideĀ“s intellectual property, trade secrets and years of our research," Halpern explains in a video. The complaint claims he suffered damages in excess of $US1 billion.
