Michigan resident Jeralean Talley was born in 1899 and will turn 116 on Saturday. She was named the oldest living person in the world after Gertrude Weaver died in April.
Relatives say she remains active and in good health. She even bowled and mowed her own lawn until just a few years ago.
Tally was honored at the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and received a special birthday message from US President Barack Obama. She insists that there is no prescription for a long life. "It´s all in good Lord´s hands," she claims.
