15-Year-Old Discovers New Planet

A 15-year-old boy discovered a new planet while he was working on a project at Keele University in England two years ago.

Tom Wagg used a software called WASP (Wide Angle Search for Planets) and detected the planet that is 1,000 light years away.

Researchers at the University of Geneva and University of Liege confirmed the boy´s discovery and dubbed it "WASP-142b" as it is the 142nd discovery made with the software.
