A small plane carrying nine passengers from a cruise ship crashed in southeast Alaska Thursday afternoon.
The plane´s operator, Promech Air, said that there are no survivors. The identities of the passengers were not released.
A helicopter pilot spotted the downed plane against the granite rock face of a cliff, about 800 feet above Ella Lake. There was no immediate indication of why the DeHavilland DHC-3 Otter turboprop crashed.
