U.S. and Cuba Reach Agreement to Open Embassies

According to a senior administration official, President Barack Obama will announce Wednesday that the U.S. and Cuba have reached an agreement to open embassies in Havana and Washington.

Obama and Cuban President Raul Castro reportedly struck a deal in December to restore formal diplomatic relations.

Obama and Castro held a bilateral meeting during the Summit of the Americas in Panama City in April. Only one month later, the U.S. removed Cuba from a list of state sponsors of terrorism.
