Erica Baker, a former Google employee, revealed on Twitter that she faced retaliation from management after compiling a spreadsheet of employee salaries.
Baker says she began maintaining a spreadsheet on which employees would voluntarily put their salaries. These salary entries helped people who were being underpaid negotiate higher salaries, but led to problems for Baker.
Her manager allegedly criticized her for keeping the spreadsheet and refused to allow peer bonuses she was being given by her fellow employees. "Our policy is not to comment on individual or former employees," Google said when asked about Baker.
