Birth Control Pills May Reduce Endometrial Cancer Risk

According to a large review of 36 studies conducted over 50 years around the world, birth control pills have prevented about 400,000 cases of endometrial cancer over the last 50 years.

Oral contraceptives can substantially reduce the risk of developing womb cancer, especially when used for at least 5 years.

"The pill can also affect a woman´s risk of other cancer types -- increasing her risk of breast and cervical cancers, but also reducing her chances of developing ovarian cancer," the researchers added.
