Antibiotic-Resistant "Superbug" Found at California Hospital

Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, California said Wednesday that some patients have been infected with an antibiotic-resistant "superbug" that´s been linked to a widely used medical scope.

The patients had procedures using Olympus Corp. duodenoscopes. According to the Los Angeles Times, the problem had already been discovered in June.

Contamination of the reusable scopes has been linked to bacterial outbreaks that sickened dozens of patients in hospitals around the country.
