White House Urges Congress Action on Gun Control

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest called on Congress to take action on gun control after a gunman shot and killed a reporter and cameraman during a live TV broadcast on Wednesday.

"This is another example of gun violence that is becoming all too common in communities large and small all across the United States," Earnest told reporters.

He also explained that there are "common sense" things Congress can do to reduce gun violence without infringing on the rights of law-abiding citizens who are exercising their Second Amendment rights.
