Self-Driving Google Car Pulled Over for Driving Too Slowly

A police officer in Mountain View, California pulled over a driverless Google car because it was going too slow. The car was traveling 10 mph under the speed limit and traffic was backing up behind it.

"The officer made contact with the operators to learn more about how the car was choosing speeds along certain roadways and to educate the operators about impeding traffic," the police department said.

According to the Google Self-Driving Car Project, the speed limit of the prototype vehicles is set at 25 mph for "safety reasons". "Driving too slowly? Bet humans donĀ“t get pulled over for that too often," Google commented on the issue.
