Police in Fremont, California say a homeless man sleeping in a restaurant´s trash bin survived two rounds of compacting in the back of a garbage truck.
The 44-year-old, who has psychiatric issues, had been sleeping in the trash bin at Dino´s Family Restaurant when it was emptied into the garbage truck. He didn´t wake up and escape until the truck had used its compactor twice.
"He very lucky to have survived the compaction and get out of the truck safely," police said. The man was taken to a local hospital and placed on a psychiatric hold.
