The Jehovah´s Witnesses is selling its Brooklyn headquarters and other properties for an expected price tag of $1 billion or more. The religious group will move to Warwick, a town about an hour north of NYC.
President of the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, Tucker Reed, says the Jehovah´s Witnesses´ global headquarters is expected to be worth about $5 billion.
"As we´ve grown as an organization we´ve had to buy scattered properties wherever we could find them. With a big, scattered campus like that it´s challenging to administer and to maintain," explains Jehovah´s Witness spokesman Richard Devine.
