Trump Leads National Poll With 27 Points

According to a new poll by Monmouth University, Donald Trump regained the top spot among national GOP primary voters.

The real estate mogul takes 41 percent support and opens up a 27-point lead over the next closest contender, Ted Cruz. Cruz earned 14 percent followed by Marco Rubio (10 percent) and Ben Carson (9 percent).

"It has become abundantly clear that Trump is giving his supporters exactly what they want, even if what he says causes the GOP leadership and many Republican voters to cringe," Patrick Murray, director of the polling institute at Monmouth University, says.
