Eight Killed After Severe Storms and Tornadoes Hit North Texas

At least eight people were killed in the Ellis County area at around 6 p.m. Saturday night when several tornadoes swept North Texas, police say.

Two local churches and some other buildings were destroyed in what forecasters called a "historic" blizzard.

"Please do not get out on the roads if you do not have to," Ellis County emergency manager Stephanie Parker advised people via Twitter.
