A student pilot safely landed a small plane on a thoroughfare in Ventura County, California after its engine began to fail mid-air.
"I’m just grateful that I’m alive. When he started telling me find a place to crash, I knew we were crashing," Danielle Lagree, the training pilot, told the press.
Lagree says she had to choose between the dirt patch or the highway and her instructor told her "when you land on a dirt path you have a 30 percent chance of living". She also said she still plans to continue flying.
