Former Concentration Camp to Become Luxury Resort

A former concentration camp in Montenegro where political prisoners were held during WW II is being turned into a luxury tourist resort. The camp was formerly used by Mussolini’s fascist forces.

The government of Montenegro has approved a plan to transform the historical site on the small island of Mamula into a luxury hotel.

With this project, Swiss-Egyptian developer Orascom says he will "create around 200 new jobs and bring €7.5 million of revenue for the Montenegrin state over a 15-year period".
