Concepcion Picciotto, who kept a peace vigil against nuclear weapons outside the White House for 35 years, reportedly died Monday. She was believed to be around 80 years old.
Connie or Conchita as she was called was the face of the protest vigil, which was stationed in Lafayette Park. She was frequently seen talking to tourists about nuclear weapons.
Picciotto also relied on the help of other activists to maintain the vigil, which could not be left unattended in order to remain in place.
