Employees at an upscale restaurant in San Diego says they have found a sea lion pup asleep in a dining booth Thursday morning.
"He was a little bit early for his high tide breakfast reservation," Bernard Guillas, executive chef at the Marine Room, said. It is believed that the mammal had been sitting at the booth all night.
A rescue team from the SeaWorld San Diego theme park was called in to help the animal. They say its condition was "critical" as it is very skinny for its age. Experts say "El Nino" is likely to blame because the storm has depleted the sea lion´s food supply.
