Lonely Planet Names Top U.S. Locations for 2016

Lonely Planet revealed its best tourist destinations in the U.S. for 2016 and named Philadelphia the top spot to visit.

The only World Heritage City in the United States will be hosting the Democratic National Convention in July and celebrating the 40th anniversary of “Rocky” this year. It offers a mix of history and culture as well as “uniquely gritty flavor”.

Other must-see places to visit are Natchez, Miss. (No. 2), Yellowstone National Park (No. 3), Birmingham, Alabama (No. 4), Alaska (No. 5), Somerville, Mass. (No. 6), Northwest Arkansas (No. 7), San Antonio, Texas (No. 8), Southern New Mexico (No. 9) and Milwaukee (No. 10).
