Italian Coffee Tycoon Buried in Coffee Pot

Renato Bialetti, the Italian who invented the beloved Moka stovetop espresso maker, died at the age of 93. His family then honored him Tuesday by placing his ashes in a large replica of the coffee pot.

Bialetti, who took over the business from his father, turned the coffee maker into a global sensation and the Italy-based company has since sold approximately 330 million Mokas internationally.

BialettiĀ“s remains were taken to a cemetery in Montebuglio and buried alongside his wife Elia.
