Government Releases Taliban Soldiers From Prison

The Afghanistan government has released around 260 prisoners who were Taliban members and pledged that it will do the same to all Taliban members, so long as they are not leaders of the group.

The men were each given a small amount of money to be able to get back to their homes. Many of those released said that they now were in favour of the new government in their country.
