Microsoft Settlement Deal Rejected

A Federal Judge in the US has told Microsoft that its proposed deal to give millions of dollars in software and computers to schools across the nation is not acceptable and that it will have to do better.

The deal was proposed to settle some of the class-action suits that have been taken out against the company. The Judge said he rejected the deal because he could not be sure if it was harming competition or not.

He also said the plan was not well worked out and could not prove that schools would get what they were promised.
