4 men on motorbikes have opened fire on a US centre in the Indian city of Calcutta, killing five police officers. Another 16 have been injured, 3 of which are in a critical condition.
The centre that was attacked early this morning is home to the US Information Service library, and the US consul-general was quick to report that none of its staff were hurt in the attack.
So far, no group has taken responsibility. The attack comes just one day after many mines were found booby trapping the US embassy in Kabul.
