Short Skirt and Japanese Flag Endanger Singer's Pop Chart Standing In China

Vicki Zhao Wei, an actress and a pop singer in China, has worn a short skirt emblazoned with the Japanese Imperial war Flag of the WWII, and now her career is in jeopardy.

The Chinese government attacked her for both historical and moral aspects of the skirt. China is still bitter over Japan's aggression and occupation of China during WWII. In 1937 Nanjing, Japanese occupation forces killed 100,000s of civilians.

The singer-actress's oversight has drawn more attention to the flag, not the shortness of the skirt. That is no longer a problem in China.

  length of the skirt?
I like the article and gave your submission a good rating but you say the size of the skirt had nothing to do with it and your headline says it does. The article says nothing about the size of the skirt being an issue. I just wanted to clarify it. Granted saying it does in the headline draws a lot of readers like me to your submission.

  point well taken
at least in the rationale of media spin commissars, the length of the skirt definitely exacerbates the gravity of the political transgression
