With the World Economic Forum set to meet this Thursday, thousands of protesters plan to have a summit of their own outside the famous Waldorf-Astoria hotel.
Among the mostly peaceful protesters will most likely be violent anarchists like the ones who clashed in Seattle in 1999 according to the police. Some protesters, like the ones in the Anti-Capitalist League, are teaching tactics on how to resist police tactics.
City authorities are mobilizing police and jails in preparation for a crackdown on demonstrations. An estimated 3,500 police will be working undercover, as rooftop snipers, as plainclothes cops and in other positions.
