Yasser Arafat has accepted that Us backed peace plan to end the violence in the Middle East, but only conditionally. He must now seek support of other Arab leaders before anything more can be done.
This means both sides have accepted Clintons plans as the basis for further talks. However Arafat has grave doubts especially about the proposal to not allow Palestininan refugees from the occupied territories to return home.
There are also problems over borders for a Palestinian state and who would control what in Jerusalem. However, Arafats acceptance means Barak must now make the next move.
