Ancient Pet Cemetary Found in Egypt - Mummified Animals Included.

A recent discovery in the historically sacred city Abydos in Egypt has got archaeologists excited. A large number of mummified animals in coffins including falcons and rodents were found when the earth subsided.

The coffins were either gilded or painted and may cast new light onto the theories that ancient Egyptians included animal worship in their religion.

Further work is to be done on the site, areas of which date back to 2000BC.
