Get $ Record Companies Owe You From Class Action Suit

If you bought a tape, record or compact disc between the time of January 1, 1995 and December 22, 2000, you may be eligible for a cash payout up to $20. This is because the record companies were sued for inflating prices.

This Music CD Settlement web site explains the process for getting money back. It has a claim form for you to fill out. March 3, 2003 is the deadline to submit your claims. Claims can also be made on behalf of deceased individuals.

This class action suit refers to music items purchased in the United States. The site states that if the amount rewarded is not $5 or more to each claimant, the rewards go to non profit groups. This is in the case that too many people file claims.

This seems like a hollow victory. You would only get from $5-$20 in the settlement depending on how many people sign up...not dependant on what you bought actually. I dunno...you should sign up, anyway Shewolf. They don't ask for reciepts...
