Two years after the famous "Rip Off Britain" campaign, current numbers show that the UK is still the most expensive place in the EU to buy a car. However, prices are dropping gradually and figures show a 1.3% price drop in January, compared to 2002.
The study is based on prices before taxes are added. The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders claim the dropping prices are "good news for the buyer" but added that the "range of sales tax systems" across the EU are still causing problems.
