Trenyce, Lashundra Cobbins, the 22 year old finalist in American Idol is following in the tradition of scandal-plagued contestants. Trenyce has powerful pipes and a prior rap sheet - she was busted in 1999 for felony theft.
Trenyce was sentenced to a year in a pretrial diversion program and later her good behaviour meant that her record was wiped clean. "It was a minor matter that Trenyce was honest about from the beginning." said the show's producer, Nigel Lythgoe.
Other contestants have been booted from the show after having their past mistakes revealed. Frenchie Davis was axed when it was revealed she posed topless. Jaered Andrews was axed after he was involved in a murder inquiry.
