An earthquake in northern Algeria has killed at least 538 people, and injured over 4600. The toll is expected to rise as people are found trapped under rubble.
The earthquake measured 5.2 on the Richter scale with the main quake lasting about 5 minutes. The quake epicentre was at Thenia, approximately 60 km east of Algiers.
The quake was also felt in Majorca and Ibiza, along the Spanish Mediterranean coast.
