"rent-a-negro.com" A Work of Art

Damali Ayo, an artist from Portland, created a website which confused and angered many people. The site: rent-a-negro.com, is a piece of performance art created by Ayo who says she was frustrated growing up in a mainly white environment.

"I understand the white environment because I was forced to learn it. White people are not forced in any capacity to learn about other cultures. I'm not mad about it," says Ayo who got frustrated with people wanting to question her and touch her hair

Ayo says her site offering: "the chance to promote your connection with a creative, articulate, friendly, attractive and pleasing African American person,"has led her to receive various invitations to functions which may lead to her next piece of art

  Racism!

She's making disparging comments about "white people." Why isn't this labeled as racism? If a white guy said the same exact things, but the colors were switched, he'd be a "bigot."

Who's in charge as labeling people as "racists"?

She's making fun of stupid white people more then of white people in general isn't that a litle different? Hell I do the same thing and I am white.

Once we make the world a place where everyone can make fun of each other without being labeled because of the race the ones being fun of are, then we have finally achieved a free world :).
