Microsoft's free email site Hotmail has undergone a series of outages this past week, as Microsoft has endured a number of web problems. But users aren't surprised. They are used to Hotmail's unreliability.
"I know personally several people who have switched to Yahoo because it's much better in terms of mail access. They have a more distributed service," said one analyst.
Microsoft spokesmen were even unable to tell if Hotmail was affected by the outages. "I am not sure if there are
intermittent problems that are due to (Wednesday's outage) or just the normal difficulties that sometimes occur with Hotmail."
