The suit worn by actor George Reeves in the 1950's Superman TV series is to go on auction today, with a starting price of US$150,000. The suit will be the centre of the auction, which will include Terminator 2 gloves and an original screenplay.
The screenplay is from the Mel Brooks film, "The Producers" (1968) which has recently been adapted to stage. The reason why the starting price for the Superman suit is so high is because it is one of the two in existance.
Joseph Maddalena, CEO of Profiles in History, who are running the auction of Hollywood memorabelia, said of the Superman costume "I can't think of a more important TV show costume." The auction is running on eBay and at Profiles' office in LA.
