Edwin Rowlette, 75, hoped that medical science would someday be able to bring his wife back to life, so almost 6 years ago he took his wife's body from the funeral home and he's been storing her in his backyard in a freezer, surrounded by dry ice.
Marcia Lynn Rowlette was 38 when she died of respiratory failure Dec 15, 1997. The woman suffered from rheumatoid arthritis, and that along with musculoskeltal problems caused her to be wheelchair-bound and to live in a nursing home.
Mr. Rowlette created the McCandless Research and Development Foundation in 1985 to support humanitarian causes and scientific research. He used documents from the foundation to get his wife's body released to him by the funeral home.
