Lead Singer Of 70's Group 'Mud' Dies

Les Gray, the 57 year old front man of 70's pop band Mud, has died at his home in Portugal. He suffered a heart attack, although he had also been battling against throat cancer for some time.

Gray had been undergoing chemotherapy rather than having his voicebox removed since he wanted to continue singing.

He was due to play in a charity concert with Alvin Stardust, Marmalade and Middle Of The Road in Glasgow, Scotland this Saturday. The show will still be held, but now as a tribute to the former star.
