Saudi Arabia: No Visas for Jews

A Saudi Arabian government web site has announced that the country is offering tourist visas so more foreign visitors come to the nation. The web site says "Jewish people" cannot have visas. US Rep. Anthony Weiner says this should be condemned.

Before this, visas were only for business, the hajj pilgrimage and visits sanctioned by the state. Under the new tourist visa program, anyone with an Israeli passport or an Israeli stamp in a passport will be denied visas.

Weiner says: "I think the administration should take a hard look at this Web site and decide whether a country that has these policies should be considered our ally." He calls on the US to close its doors to Saudis until they "clarify" this policy.

just another step before declaration as ...

a wink-wink "terrorist" state. They still need Saudi oil, but they're free to use and abuse them now they've got Iraq. Of course, they can't formally label SA a terrorist state, as that will signal to all muslims 'hey, you're most sacred place is eventually gonna get taken out, or fall into our line'.

This is just more evidence of SA declaring its independance from the US.

  Good idea...

to condemn Saudi Arabia for this policy, but I like the bit where he calls on the US to close its doors to Saudis until this is sorted out! Double-standards?
Well, I suppose that's one excuse to keep the Ay-rabs out, eh?

  Hmm...

I'm curious to see how this plays out...

  Well...

It's still a type of racism. It's also so blatant that you wonder if any peace in the middle east is possible with mentalties like these. A side note may be added that that jews prior to this event were not allowed in Saudi Arabia. This is no more than a reaffirmation of a worldiwde accepted religious and racist aprtheid policy

re: jogodie - want prejudiced behvaviour??

Here's a quote:

"I don't know something called International Principles. I vow that I'll burn every Palestinian child (that) will be born in this area. The Palestinian woman and child is more dangerous than the man, because the Palestinian child's existence infers that generations will go on, but the man causes limited danger. I vow that if I was just an Israeli civilian and I met a Palestinian I would burn him and I would make him suffer before killing him. With one hit I've killed 750 Palestinians (in Rafah in 1956). I encourage my soldiers to rape Arabic women and girls as the Palestinian women is a slave for Jews, and we do whatever we want to her and nobody tells us what we shall do but we tell others what they shall do." -

Ariel Sharon, In an interview with General Ouze Merham, 1956.

And the US is hoping for peace under this guy.

  double standards?

I believe that the double standards were first started by the jews. And for the US to condemn SA??? maybe US should consider revising its visa policies first

  @jonnienewbee

Where is the source for that comment?
Much as I hate the Israeli state and Zionism and Sharon, I find it hard to believe that he would say such a thing - especially since prosecutors had trouble finding a direct accountable link with Sharon to Rafah.

And you'll get thousands of hits. I can't give you the originating source, but feel free to look for it yourself and let me know :)

no Jew would ever visit SA anyways

I spoke once to a Jew who was invited to do business in Qatar. It was way too dangerous for him to go there. Same thing with SA and other Arabic countries. SA doesn't even show Israel on their maps, I saw this myself.

  by: xadas   03/02/2004 02:53 AM
  yeah

I don't think the lure of cheap gasoline would drive Israelis to want to visit.
I do wonder if this ruling shuts out Israeli Arabs who may want to participate in the Hajj.
