US Trucks Transporting Radioactive Materials into Iraq

A Kuwaiti radioactive control team seized a truck loaded with heavy radioactive materials on the Iraq-Kuwait border.

The truck which belonged to the coalition forces did not have permission to transport such materials from the appropriate bodies, hence it seemed like the material was being secretly smuggled into Iraq.

This was the first time the MNA reported questionable WMD parts being transported by coalition forces into southern Iraq. The US attacked Iraq for it's alleged possession of WMDs and nuclear programs, which is yet to be proven.

  Well it's only a matter of time....
 until they manage to plant the WMDs inside Iraq and then claim it as a "big find" to justify this illegal war.

As for believing different news sources, I am able to distinguish between "patriotic" sources like Faux Nooz and the unbiased foreign media like this one. :-P

Here's another interesting article, claiming backing up such claims: -

According to a stunning report posted by a retired Navy Lt Commander and 28-year veteran of the Defense Department (DoD), the Bush administration’s assurance about finding weapons of mass destruction in Iraq was based on a Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) plan to “plant” WMDs inside the country. Nelda Rogers, the Pentagon whistleblower, claims the plan failed when the secret mission was mistakenly taken out by “friendly fire”, the Environmentalists Against War report.

  The last
 time I looked, New Yorkers aren't blowing themselves up, killing innocent Iraqis and US forces--Iranian terrorists are! They will say or do anything to stop Iraq's independence.

  @luhrker
 Wel, that was a well thought out comment.

  @ec5618
 Don't mind our little friend lurker, he gets a little over-excited and tends to say things he's taught by Faux and CNN, like: -

Iranian = Terrorists
Iraqi = Terrorists
Israeli = Friends
French = Terrorists
Canadian = Terrorists
South Korea = Friends
North Korea = Terrorists
China = Terrorists
England = Friends

I could go on, but it's just not worth it lol.

Can't blame the little fella, he needs someone to think for him, rather than understand the difference between a freedom fighter and terrorist.

  WMD
 At least now we know there are WMDs in Iraq!
Let's bomb those who placed them there...

  Amusing
 "As for believing different news sources, I am able to distinguish between "patriotic" sources like Faux Nooz and the unbiased foreign media like this one."

Heh, more like "I only believe the news sites that tell me what I agree with or what I want to hear. Those are the true ones."

Bias isn't limited to those who disagree with you, Meister. Hate to be the one to shatter your worldview, but that's the truth.

  Here's a thought...
 The difference between a freedom fighter and a terrorist, among other things, is who wins the war.
 by: aspringer     06/15/2004 09:37 PM
  Reason to suspect...
 I am not quite sure I can believe an article like this for two reasons.

One, if the U.S. were actively trying to plant material in Iraq, all they had to do was put it on military trucks, then no one would ever get to inspect them. Or even airdrop it from military transports. This way their plan would never get discovered.

Two, look at the source. I would sooner believe the rhetoric coming out of North Koreas newspapers I think.

 military trucks and the kuwaitis are allowed to stop and search any vehicle crossing the border

  hehe ^^
 >>it was on military trucks and the kuwaitis are allowed to stop and search any vehicle crossing the border.
--------------------------------------------------------

Exactly, guess they forgot to tell them not to intercept these trucks lol, back to drawing board 1 :-P

@Visitor
>>>Heh, more like "I only believe the news sites that tell me what I agree with or what I want to hear. Those are the true ones."
-------------------------------------------------------
I could use that argument against you, for most of what you agree with comes from Faux and other right-wing sources. If you disagree with the source, that's fine by everyone, but favouring sources which only think the way you do, are not very credible.

LMAO! sure the Iraqis were born yesterday, why not just let them plant it themselves and do an interview later showing how an Iraqi tripped over a nuclear warhead on they way to work. :-D

 "but favouring sources which only think the way you do, are not very credible."

That's exactly what you do all the time!

 by: lurker     06/15/2004 11:28 PM
  hmmm
 No where does the article say what was found. My bet is that it was depelted uranium artillery shells.

It was not a military truck, it was a truck owned by the coalition, there is a difference. The US does not need to "smuggle" anything into Iraq. Considering the fact that the US controls Iraq, it would be logical to think that they could bring in whatever they want unchecked via military convoy or air transport...but meister has never been known to let logic ruin a good conspiracy theory

 by: xedaps     06/16/2004 12:28 AM
  OMG
 The US transports almost nothing by truck. It gets flown into the country and dispersed throughout fromthere. So if anything was smuggled in it was from plane, not truck. Use your freaking heads.
 by: boyblue737   06/16/2004 01:26 PM
  It would be flown
 to an airport in Iraq or Kuwait then transported from there by truck.
Its very expensive to airdrop things, and is only done when its the only way possible.

 by: Necralis   06/16/2004 01:30 PM
  Well
 I do Airborne and Air Assault(Slingload) missions and wear both tabs. No it is not that terribly expensive to airdrop crates of materials to troops in the field. Now given the importance of not being caught, I doubt expense was an issue.
 by: RomJeremy   06/17/2004 06:48 PM
  How about safety
 Not sure if I'd be to happy about dropping this and hoping for the best.
How abouyt cover, now I'm not sure but I'm pretty sure there quite limited amounts of supplies being airdropped into Iraq, I may be wrong, but I doubt it.
So surely a few loads dropped into a non combat area that could easily be reached by truck, is well, at least a bit suspicious.

Now, as for ease, why exactly was keeping the forces in najaf supplied such a problem, becuase the roads werent safe. If supplies were that easy to airdrop, it wouldnt be a problem

 "French = Terrorists
Canadian = Terrorists"

Nah, they're friends too... to some of us. I've spent all of the past couple weeks teaching some of 'em how to fight in urban environments.

  Whoops (sorry)
 make that the "tehrantimes" (same difference).
 by: lurker     06/20/2004 06:51 PM
  Radioactive....
 Gee how many things they could be bringing in radioactive material for...

Maybe a hospital... X-rays use Radioactive Material...

Can anyone else come up with other applications of radioactive material? Come on try really hard.

 by: azianperv     06/20/2004 07:19 PM
  Mayeb the story
 is a fake, i dont, its quite possible, but its nquite possible its not.

I'd ask all of you how many people like luhker have ever said they may be wrong, and to remember this story when radioactive materials that were part of a wmd program are found in 6 months time.

 by: Necralis   06/20/2004 07:25 PM
  BAHAHAHAHAHH
 If the US wanted to smuggle and plant WMD's in Iraq, they wouldn't be caught. End of story.
