America's "Sweatiest City" Is El Paso, Texas

Research scientist Tim Long has compiled a list of America's 100 "sweatiest cities" using heat indexes and relative humidity levels. El Paso, Texas, came out top of the list with average summer temperatures over 93°F and relative humidity over 70%.

"The driving force is heat, but humidity is a key factor," said Long. "It can feel like 118 in El Paso but it's only 94." Long's calculations say that El Paso's residents create enough sweat to fill an Olympic swimming pool during a 4 hour period.

Greenville, South Carolina; Phoenix, Arizona; Corpus Christi, Texas; and New Orleans, Louisiana complete the top five "sweatiest cities" on the list.
