Man used alligator as a weapon, police say

Floridian David Havenner is being held on charges of battery and possession of an alligator after an altercation with his girlfriend in which, police say, he struck her with a 3-foot gator that was living in his bath tub.

Nancy Monico told police that Havenner hit her with his fists, threw empty beer bottles at her and took swings at her with the alligator, striking her at least once.

The reptile has been turned over to wildlife officials.

Havenner disputed Monico's version of the story, telling police that she, upset that they had run out of alcohol, had bit him on the hand.

Pretty funny if he did though.

  Of course

it sucks that in the case of two
peoples words, the womans seems to
count for more.

  After

knowing my daughter's ex husband for 19
years, I'd be inclined to believe the woman's version. There is NEVER an excuse for a man to beat up a woman!

I find it much more believable that
the woman bit his hand, than that an
alligator permited itself to be used
as a pseudo club.

For the record, I've known women that
can be just that bad when it comes to
alcohol. Sounds likely to me.
