The MLB has given its approval of the trade deal that will see Randy Johnson from the Arizona Diamondbacks signed on to the New York Yankees. The deal went to the MLB because more than US$1 million is involved.
In return, the Diamondbacks will get US$9 million for Johnson, reserve catcher Dioner Navarro and pitchers Javier Vazquez and Brad Halsey. The NY Yankees have until this Friday to finalise the deal.
Johnson, a five-time Cy Young Award-winner, is expected to sign a two-year contract with the Yankees.
